Veggies and Milk

Remember my birthday wish list? I know it has been almost a month since my birthday, but I haven’t yet told you about what I received for my birthday. One of the things that I asked for was a raised garden with veggies we will actually eat in it.

Well about two weeks ago Mr. Vargas and I built some for me, and here they are.

In this one is berries (Blueberry, Blackberry, Raspberry, and some strawberries)
In this one is lettuce and basil (smells sooo good.)
This one has Roma tomatoes and bell peppers
And this one is a little random it has zucchini and squash and cucumber and a jalapeño.

I can’t wait for them to grow and start producing food for me to eat. We did already harvest some lettuce, and can I just say YUM!
These pictures where taken 2 weeks ago, when they were planted, they have really started to grow, I will update pictures in a couple weeks, so you can see what a green thumb I have---or don't have.

Our next project is the worm composter, why am I so excited about worms?

On a side note… I went and picked up some raw milk for the first time yesterday. I must say it was very rich and not bad. However I am not really that big of a milk drinker and was really hoping it would be more like a milk shake (hey a girl can dream right).

This is the one gallon jar after less than 24 hours in my house.

  1. I LOVE your raised gardens. Hubby isn't real keen on the idea, so I bought a tomato plant and a planter to set on my patio as a compromise.

  2. Dude said he could tell the difference in the 2 milks but didnt mind the raw milk. I thought they tasted the same.

  3. I loved your raised garden. We planted some things this year and did them in planters so we can transport them when we move. I am hoping to do something like yours for next year. I am also planning to compost once we move so I will be paying attention to how it goes for you!

  4. We planted our garden too this year! Can't wait to see what it does...we started with seeds though so I'm hoping we have veggies in time for Summer. :)
I need to find some raw milk around here. The closest place I have found is 45 minutes away :( Glad to hear your kiddos like it.
