Progressive Present

I could tell you about my day, but truth be told it would probably bore you. I did realize that I haven't shown you updated pictures of my new tattoo.See previous pics here Now all of them are filled in except one, I can't wait for it to be finished.

Leaves finished

Star Flower (Josiah) finished

Avrah's Hibiscus

Now isn't that more interesting than hearing me talk about playing on the computer and cleaning the house, I thought so.

Three Things Thursday

My three things today are three things that I love, well they aren’t actually things tonight they are people. My three siblings.

1) My oldest brother Judah, who is on a quest for more knowledge and understanding of the world around him, and is always ready to share the information he gathers. It’s no coincidence that my oldest son is named after him.

2) My second brother Tim, top runner for “world’s greatest dad” the way he loves his boys is truly inspirational. The only person in the world that can make me smile and laugh no matter what the circumstances may be. My second son shares his middle name, and I think he probably holds a special place in his heart as well.

3) My sister Anna, who I am now glad to not only call sister but also call friend. Even if we don’t always agree on everything, I think we have found a way to share our opinions with each other and I know she has helped me out along the way and I hope to be able to return the favor in one way or another. My only daughter’s middle name is the meaning of her first name, and if Avrah’s heart is half as big is her Aunt Anna’s then she will make this momma very happy.
Hahaha Just kidding
 (aren't we funny)

While we didn’t get to choose each other as siblings, I am glad that we are choosing to be each other’s friends.

Veggies and Milk

Remember my birthday wish list? I know it has been almost a month since my birthday, but I haven’t yet told you about what I received for my birthday. One of the things that I asked for was a raised garden with veggies we will actually eat in it.

Well about two weeks ago Mr. Vargas and I built some for me, and here they are.

In this one is berries (Blueberry, Blackberry, Raspberry, and some strawberries)
In this one is lettuce and basil (smells sooo good.)
This one has Roma tomatoes and bell peppers
And this one is a little random it has zucchini and squash and cucumber and a jalapeño.

I can’t wait for them to grow and start producing food for me to eat. We did already harvest some lettuce, and can I just say YUM!
These pictures where taken 2 weeks ago, when they were planted, they have really started to grow, I will update pictures in a couple weeks, so you can see what a green thumb I have---or don't have.

Our next project is the worm composter, why am I so excited about worms?

On a side note… I went and picked up some raw milk for the first time yesterday. I must say it was very rich and not bad. However I am not really that big of a milk drinker and was really hoping it would be more like a milk shake (hey a girl can dream right).

This is the one gallon jar after less than 24 hours in my house.

Miss me much?

Hey There!

I’m back. Did you miss me? I know you did. So much has been going on here. I have so much to share with you, here are a few things that have been going on. I’ll just jump right in with today though.

Tonight while making dinner Avrah comes in the kitchen and we had the following conversation.

Avrah: What are you making for dinner?

Me: Soup.**recipe to follow**

Avrah: I don’t like soup.

Me: I think you should try it before you decide you don’t like it.

Avrah: I did have octopus soup once. I liked it. I do like soup.

To Avrah’s future husband/boyfriend, I am sorry.

Last night

We were hanging out watching Phineas and Ferb, and since the babies don’t really watch TV they were running around playing. Now when they hurt someone, on purpose or accident I make them stop and hug that person to say that they are sorry (since they don’t have the words yet)—this is awkward if we don’t know the other person, but last night one of them had pushed the other and made him cry so I made the other one give him a hug, this usually lasts a couple seconds, but they got distracted by the show and just stood there hugging each other here is a pic of that cuteness.

And here are some pics of them in their new to them towels

Last week the kid’s school had a health and wellness fair. The Biggest Loser winner from last season was Danny, he lives in our neighborhood and his kids go to school with the boys, so he was there to talk and I took a picture of him.

***Recipe***

5 out of 5 kid rating. I thought it was yummy too.

Asian Steak and Veggie soup

2lbs Chuck steak, cut into thin strips
1 T oil
½ cup finely chopped onion
2 packs of chicken ramen noodles
½ bag angel hair coleslaw (I left this out)
16 oz bag frozen stir fry veggies
1-2 T soy sauce.

Heat oil in deep pot, sauté onions until clear. Add steak strips and cook quickly. Take out with slotted spoon and set aside (I left it in to cook, as I didn’t have the slaw to add to it) Crush ramen noodles while in bag. Prepare noodles as directed (in separate pot). Pour noodles and broth into pot on med-hi heat. Add Cabbage and frozen veggies. Cook 5 min. Add meat and soy sauce to taste. Serve in bowls.

OUTSIDE!

Have I mentioned how much I love spring? I know I have, I have spent like every day between lunch and nap time outside, and it has been great. Today I took the kids to the mall for a play date, it was fun and I ran into two other friends I hadn’t seen in a while, so that was nice. Here are some pictures from this evening.

She learned how to "pump" and can now swing herself! (Josiah claims he can't even do that yet)

Micah- Loving the swing!

Mid week

Most of my day today was spent with my best friend we walked a park and then went back to my house to go through stuff for the twin moms garage sale (April 24th).  I am way behind on this and I have so far to go, but I have it all out and have started so that is good. Other than that my day was kind of boring. So I will direct you to a not so boring blog. I don't appreciate coffee as much as I know some of you all do, so go read this great idea for coffee.
My sister is coming to town tomorrow so hopefully there will be more to post, stay tuned.

I Heart Spring

I have been LOOOVVVINGG this weather that we have been having. I love spring, I used to not mind the rain, but now I have a dog and she brings all the rain and mud in with her, so I really would like there to be  no more big rains. Hey a girl can dream.
We bought a picnic table for the kids and today I put it outside and the babies ate lunch out there today. It was great they love it. They love being outside and I have a hard time getting them to come in.

A birthday present ( a work in progress)

I received one of my birthday presents last night, well part of it. It isn’t finished yet. But I already love it so much. I debated waiting until it was all the way finished to share it with you, but I think you will enjoy it in stages too.

5 flowers, 5 kids, 4 different flowers, 2 the same but different

stencil on

Outline done

shading done on the "twins" (see how they are the same but turned)

I can't wait until it is finished. I love it now, so I can't even imagine how it will be will when it is full color.

A big THANK YOU to my wonderful brother Tim who designed it and is putting it on (or in or however you would say it).  And all he had to go on was "something pretty, maybe some flowers." Isn't he talented?

Pictures from Sunday (Easter)

So if you are my friend on facebook then this is going to be a bit of a repeat. But since some of you are not my friends on facebook, I thought that maybe you all would like to see my pictures from Sunday.

Party in the Park, and Seder

What a busy day today. We went to a birthday party at a park today. And by “we” I mean me and the 5 kids and Leia (the dog). What was I thinking? Apparently I was not, because how can you chase five kids plus hold on to a dog, who just wants to run and play, but has to be kept right next to you on a leash. Let me just say that it wasn’t as much fun as it could have been for me, I will try not to make that mistake again.

Another tip, if at all possible don’t hold your twin toddlers on your lap while they are eating cupcakes with a pound of frosting on each one. You will be covered by the time they are done. Here is a picture of that. No my hands aren’t tied together that is the dog’s leash, so well yeah they kind of were.

Here is some more cuteness.

After the park we came home and the kids rested while I cleaned. We hosted a Seder at our house tonight.

We had 14 adults and 12 kids. It was really fun and Jeremy out did himself on the food. Brisket, Green beans and Mashed potatoes. Everybody ate their fill and there are still way too many leftovers.

Three Things Thursday

My three things today are about Micah, since I was fortunate enough to spend the day with him and my husband. Although the circumstances may not have been ideal, we still had a good time. He made it through the surgery with flying colors, no problems at all.

1) Even when hungry and tired Micah still finds a way to play, laugh, and have a good time. Watching him play made the time we spent waiting go by much faster.

2) After his surgery he let me hold him and rock him and fell asleep in my arms, which he has not done since he was a tiny baby. This kid is always on the move, so even though it was drug induced, I’ll take it.

3) Even after a surgery and a rough day this kid is still so cool. He doesn’t let anything slow him down. After dinner tonight he was out climbing on our playground like nothing happened.
