On Monday Jeremy took Judah to boy scouts like usual. I put the kids to bed like usual. I had just put the babies in their bed and went out to the living room to sit down and I was just listening to them "talk" on the baby monitor when all the sudden I hear this THUNK and then WAAAAAA so I jump up and RUN into the their room..knowing what has happened. You see Micah has started to pull up. He pulls up on EVERYTHING. This should not have been a surprise to me but it was, he had pulled himself up on his crib rail and over the side he went. He was fine. I ran in and picked him up and he stopped crying immediately, it must have just scared him, it definitely scared me, I was glad Hosea was still awake because I was determined to figure out how to lower the mattress. I texted Jeremy and told him Micah had fell out of his crib, but was ok. I took both babies out and set them on the floor in their room and began disassembling their crib, with a few tools and a little "help" from Micah and Hosea..and by "help" I mean crawling and pulling up all over me and taking the tools that i set down..I finally got the thing lowered and was screwing in the last screw when Jeremy got home to help me. I'm just so glad he didn't get hurt. Of all 5 of my kids I had never had one fall out.Judah never did climb out of his, Josiah learned to climb out around 18 months and what fun we had trying to keep him in his crib. Avrah didn't start until she was almost 2 1/2. Just goes to show me that each one of them is uniquely different and there is still so much that I have to learn about being a mom.
Here is a picture of him pulling up on a toy. He also does this on the baby wipe box which looks more like he is trying to do push ups so cute.
Adriel fell out of her crib once. I was so glad that her room was carpeted but it still scared the $^&^*%@$% out of me. I was ultra paranoid with the next three. Sheesh!
ReplyDeleteThat is so scary! I have been worried about the same thing. We lowered the cribs just before they started pulling up but I told Jeff I think we need to put them on the very bottom now.
ReplyDeleteI can't even imagine... my heart would just quit! We lowered Asher's mattress before he could stand up well... that way we knew he wouldn't flip over it! Glad he's all right!
ReplyDeletewow, I don't feel like I can comment here because I don't have kids. I will anyway, the picture of those two is great. It's been forever, how are you Jeremy and the now the 5 children? Tell jeremy that I said Hi.
